Mrs. Prof. PhD Gabriela Drăgan ended her mandate as Director General of the European Institute of Romania (EIR) on 29 July 2019. Mrs. Gabriela Drăgan was acting EIR General Director from 1 January 2008 to 29 July 2009, and from 30 July 2009 she held the position of Director General of the EIR.
Starting with 30 July 2019, the acting Director General will be Ms. Oana-Mihaela Mocanu, appointed by the decision of the Administrative Board of EIR. Ms. Oana-Mihaela Mocanu, PhD in economics, started her activity at EIR in 2000. She is editor-in-chief of the Romanian Journal of European Affairs and head of the Studies and Analyses Unit.
