Informing and improving communication on EU Cohesion policy in Romania (2018-2019)
The main aim of the project was to raise awareness among the Romanian general public of the instruments and impact that the EU Cohesion Policy entailed for the country`s development and to facilitate debates and experience exchange among relevant stakeholders with respect to current and future EU funded projects.
Objectives:
- to contribute to the improvement of knowledge of Romanian citizens with respect to the role and impact that the EU Cohesion policy has for the development of Romania, including the effects of projects funded by the EU. In this sense, the project focused on enabling citizens, past and potential beneficiaries of EU funds to learn, debate, share and exchange among themselves and other relevant stakeholder knowledge and experience related to implementation and results of the EU cohesion policy, in particular with regard to:
- the way it contributed to boosting jobs in Romania,
- its impact on growth and investment at the regional and national level, and
- its overall effects on improving citizens’ quality of life.
- to develop a nation-wide online awareness raising campaign that will touch on all the key issues that pertain to the results and future of the EU cohesion policy;
- to enable and to encourage civic involvement and sharing of knowledge and ideas with respect to the implementation in Romania of the EU Cohesion policy.
- In addition, the team worked with online tools that allowed an interaction to occur for participants not able to physically attend the high-level conference.
Project activities:
Project management and monitoring;
A set of specialized informative materials that illustrate the impact of the EU Cohesion policy in Romania was developed and promoted through a national information and communication campaign.
A high-level conference with experts and representatives from the European Commission, national institutions, management authorities (EU funds), private stakeholders (consultancy and banking companies), and beneficiaries of EU Cohesion policy funds,
A stakeholders’ fair that facilitated experience exchange and information sharing among past and potential EU funds beneficiaries and specialised institutions and service providers,
A series of eight workshops addressing key elements and opportunities that Romanian private and public potential beneficiaries can pursue as part of the 2014-2020 funds made available through the Cohesion policy of the European Union.
Results:
- An online section on www.startupcafe.ro to promote all the project materials (articles, press releases, the Conference Paper);
- One set of original visual identity elements to be used in the branding of all the project`s materials;
- Specialized articles (interviews, news, analyses) published on www.startupcafe.ro and promoted on www.hotnews.ro and Facebook;
- Promotional documents;
- 250 participants in the project`s events;
- Online informed persons:
- 000 unique viewers for the project`s materials on all online dissemination platforms,
- 000 number of sessions,
- 000 impact on Facebook.
Project`s budget was 109.693 Euro, of which 80%, or 80.286 euro, was the grant of the European Commission.
