On 18 September 2024, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES), in partnership with the European Institute of Romania (EIR) and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs – SWP Berlin, organised the 9th edition of EURT – Romanian-German Roundtable on European Affairs, devoted to the topic Making Europe Fit for the Future. German and Romanian Views. The event took place in Bucharest and included discussions about post-election European priorities, security, and EU’s neighbourhood.
EIR was represented by Univ. Prof. Dr. Alina Bârgăoanu, president of the Administrative Board (as speaker) and Eliza Vaș, coordinator of the Studies Unit (as moderator). The participants to the roundtable were officials from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, analysts and experts on European and security affairs.
The discussions were held under Chatham House rules.
