EIR announces the publication of a new Working Paper, part of the micro-studies collection, titled: “The EU and South and Southeast Asia: The best is yet to come”. The study is structured in four sections and presents some of the main developments related to the relationship between the EU and the South and Southeast Asia regions after 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the economic cooperation of the actors analysed. The measures taken subsequently were also reflected in different European documents, as was the case, for example, in 2022, when the Strategic Compass for Security and Defence stressed the importance of deepening cooperation with regional partners such as ASEAN, as well as the need to build tailor-made partnerships in Asia.
The paper is signed by Mihaela-Adriana Pădureanu, expert within the Studies Unit, European Institute of Romania.
