The European Institute of Romania (EIR) announces the publication of an opinion written by Kerry Longhurst, Jean Monnet professor at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, Poland. This material shows why the future Eastern enlargement of the European Union is different from the previous enlargements, and yet no less important. The author pinpoints the crucial aspects that the EU should consider so as not to endanger its values and institutional integrity in this expedited enlargement. Furthermore, it makes some policy recommendations meant to facilitate the EU accession of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.
