European Policy Institutes Network (EPIN) is a dynamic network of 32 think tanks and policy institutes in Europe which studies the current problems concerning the policies adopted at European Union level. The members of the network gather to debate important problems on the EU agenda during three major events organised every year by the network, in Brussels and in other locations.
During 2011, three conferences have taken place so far, the first two in Brussels and Rome. The third event of the year, named ‘Strategic thinking in the European Union’, was organised in Bucharest on September 30th within a partnership between Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS, Brussels) and European Institute of Romania with the support of the Representation of the European Commission in Romania.
The following topics have been approached during the conference: macroregional strategies (Danube Strategy and Baltic Strategy), Europe 2020 strategy, strategies in the field of EU foreign policy and so on. The event has been attended by researchers from European think tanks, officials, diplomatic members and representatives of non-governmental organisations, academic environment, business community and media.
The event was broadcasted live on www.caleaeuropeana.ro.
