EIR- Robert Schuman Foundation debate: “Common European defense in the context of the war in Ukraine”

The European Institute of Romania and the Robert Schuman Foundation (Paris) organized Thursday, June 9, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. the conference – debate on the topic of European common defense in the context of the war in Ukraine, which took place onsite at the French Institute (77, Dacia Blvd.).

Context

Public opinion support for the European project has increased in the context of the pandemic and the crisis in Ukraine. However, the European Union faces numerous challenges in terms of the green and digital transition, energy security, food security, or cyber security, as well as the achievement of European objectives in terms of common defense. Starting from the current reality, the purpose of the event was to facilitate a bilateral dialogue between Romanian and French experts regarding the multisectoral consequences of the war in Ukraine. The conference is part of a series of activities carried out by the Robert Schuman Foundation in partnership with European research centers and think tanks, included in the program of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
