The 25th edition of the Economic Forum took place in Krynica (Republic of Poland), between 8 and 10 September 2015.
The Economic Forum is a major event in the region and a renowned platform of discussion on a wide array of issues such as economy, politics, international security and society. As in the previous years, the Forum was a distinct meeting place for the government officials and policy-makers, prominent politicians, business leaders, bankers and experts from most of the EU countries and other regions. The Forum’s program included plenary sessions and over 100 panel sessions and round table discussions, offering impartial and up-to-date information on the currently discussed political and economic issues.
Within the Economic Forum, for the fourth year in a row, the European Institute of Romania (EIR) organized a panel session in cooperation with the Institute for Eastern Studies (Instytut Studiów Wschodnich – ISW) from Warsaw. This year the debate focused on the topic Europa 2020 Strategy: an interim evaluation of key targets from the ECE countries perspectives and took place on 10 September 2015.
The panel session was moderated by Mrs. Gabriela Drăgan, Director General of the EIR. As keynote speakers we can mention: Mr. Codrin Scutaru, former Secretary of State, Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Protection and Elderly (Romania), Mr. Balázs Rákossy, Minister of State for the Utilisation of EU Funding, Ministry of National Economy, Government of Hungary, Mr. Pawel Szalamacha, Member of the Parliament (Sejm), Poland, Mrs. Olga Algayerova, Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of the Slovak Republic to the International Organizations in Vienna, Slovakia.
