The 26th edition of the Economic Forum took place in Krynica (Republic of Poland), between 6 and 8 September 2016.
The Economic Forum is a major event in the region and a renowned platform of discussion on a wide array of issues such as economy, politics, international security and society. As in the previous years, the Forum was a distinct meeting place for the government officials and policy-makers, prominent politicians, business leaders, bankers and experts from most of the EU countries and other regions. The Forum’s program included plenary sessions and over 100 panel sessions and round table discussions which offered impartial and up-to-date information on the currently discussed political and economic issues.
Within the Economic Forum, for the fifth year in a row, the European Institute of Romania (EIR) organized a panel session in cooperation with the Institute for Eastern Studies (Instytut Studiów Wschodnich – ISW) from Warsaw. This year the debate was focused on the topic Cultural and Creative Industries – Growth Potential for the Economies of ECE Countries.
The debate took place on 8 September and the panel session was moderated by Mrs. Gabriela Drăgan, Director General of the EIR.
As keynote speakers we can mention: Tibor Narvacsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Grzegorz Czelej, Vice-president of the Senate (Republic of Poland), Dragoș Pîslaru, Minister of Labour, Family, Social Protection and Elderly (Romania), Piotr Glinski, Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (Republic of Poland).
