The XXIInd edition of the Economic Forum took place in Krynica, Poland, between 4 and 6 September 2012.
The Economic Forum, held annually for over 20 years, is a major event in the region and a renowned platform of discussion on a wide array of issues such as economy, politics, international security and society. As in the previous years, the Forum was a distinct meeting place for the government officials and policy-makers, prominent politicians, business leaders, bankers and experts from most of the EU countries and other regions.
Over 120 panel sessions and round table discussions offered impartial and up-to-date information on the currently discussed political and economic issues.
One of the sessions was organized by the Institute for Eastern Studies (Instytut Studiów Wschodnich – ISW) from Warsaw, in cooperation with the European Institute of Romania (EIR), with the topic: Management of Structural Funds in Central and Eastern Europe.
The event took place on September 6th, 2012, and was moderated by Mrs. Gabriela Drăgan, Director General of the EIR. As keynote speakers we can mention: Mr. Mikolaj Dowgielewicz, vice governor of the Development Bank of the Council of Europe, former Minister for EU Funds Management (Poland), Mr. Krzysztof Hetman, Marshal of Lubelskie Voivodeship, Marshal’s Office of Lubelskie Voivodeship, Mrs. Radostina Angelova, Head of Cabinet of the Minister of EU Funds Management, Council of Ministers, Bulgaria, Mr. Eugen Orlando Teodorovici, State Counselor within the Government of Romania, and Mr. Carlos Puente Martín, Team Europe Member, European Commission (Spain).
