11 April 2012 – The European Institute of Romania, in partnership with the National Bank of Romania, held a conference with the topic ‘The reform of public finance in the European Union‘.
The event was attended by Mr. Leonard Orban, Minister of European Affairs, Mr. Bogdan Drăgoi, Minister of Public Finance, Mr. Lucian Croitoru, Professor PhD. adviser for the Governor of the National Bank of Romania and member of the Administrative Board of the European Institute of Romania and Mrs. Gabriela Drăgan, Director-General of the European Institute of Romania.
The starting point of the discussions has been the research result of the ‘Euro Plus Pact Adoption: Implications for Romanian Fiscal Policy’ study (SPOS_2011_-_nr_2_RO-EN_). The authors of the study, Mr. Daniel Dăianu (coordinator), Mr. Laurian Lungu and Mrs. Ella Kallai held presentations regarding the research carried out. Mr. Valentin Lazea, Chief Economist of the National Bank of Romania, Mr. Moisă Altăr, PhD. Professor at Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and Mr. Liviu Voinea, Associate Professor, PhD. at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies also participated at the debate. The debate was chaired by Mr. Aurelian Dochia, economic analyst, managing partner Concept.
Representatives of the beneficiary institutions, representatives of the academic and research environment, experts and analysts in the economic, finance, banking sectors and representatives of the civil society, students and mass media were invited to attend the debate.
