The latest issue of the EIR Newsletter brings to the subscribers and readers’ attention current topics in the field of European affairs. It also informs the audience about the numerous activities carried out by EIR in the second quarter of this year (May-June-July). On the front page, professor Sven Biscop presents an opinion on the increased role of geopolitics in the relations between the European states. Ioana Elena Secu writes an article on the programme and priorities of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which aims to open a new phase in the development of the European project.
The Newsletter also includes a presentation about the articles published in the summer issue of the Romanian Journal of European Affairs (RJEA). Information about of role of the national independent fiscal institutions, energy, good governance and road infrastructure or regional cooperation are brought forward by Emanuela Ignăţoiu-Sora.
