Considering the importance of the European Semester in supporting growth and employment objectives, as well as related recent developments at EU level, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the European Institute of Romania, organized the Conference “The coordination of economic policies at EU level, a renewed role for the European Semester” on 4 April 2019.
Organized under the aegis of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the event featured a plenary session followed by two working sessions, which targeted topical issues for the European Semester process, with focus on a closer link between the European Semester and EU funding in the context of the next Multiannual Financial Framework of the EU, and on the social dimension of the process. The closing session tackled topics related to further developments in the European Semester and ended with the conference wrap-up.
