Editorial release – The Right Presidency for Exceptional Times

The European Institute of Romania has the pleasure to announce a new analysis called “A Unifying Presidency Amid an Unprecedented Crisis: Evaluating the German Council Presidency From the Central and Eastern European Perspective”, elaborated under the aegis of the prestigious Slovak think-tank GLOBSEC. In this report, fourteen experts from nine Central and Eastern European countries evaluate the work of the German Council Presidency.

In this report, Mihai Sebe, coordinator of the European Studies Unit, European Institute of Romania, presents a Romanian perspective on the German Presidency and welcomes its achievements especially related to the next multiannual financial framework and the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The unsolved challenges of the European Union’s foreign policy and beyond are also emphasized.
