Conference “Europe after the European Parliament Elections”

On Friday, 31 May 2019, the European Institute of Romania (EIR) and the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, organised a conference titled “Europe after the European Parliament Elections”. The event was included in the calendar of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and took place at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest, between 10:00 – 15:00.

The conference aimed to bring into the attention of the research community and academia, business environment, civil society, and students interested in European politics, various information about the European election process and its importance, as well as its impact on the daily life of the European citizens. In order to get a comprehensive view of all the aspects regarding the European Parliament elections from May 2019 and the future setup of EU political dynamics over the next five years, the Conference “Europe after the European Parliament Elections” hosted the following guests: Remus Pricopie, PhD, Rector, National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, Mădălina Beatrice Mihalache, Head of the European Parliament Liaison Office in Romania, Gabriela Crețu, Chair, European Affairs Committee, Senate of Romania, Victor Negrescu, Vice-Rector, National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, Iordan Gheorghe Bărbulescu, PhD, Director, Department of International Relations and European Integration, National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, Lazăr Comănescu, Foreign Affairs Adviser to the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, former Minister for Foreign Affairs, Alina Bârgăoanu, PhD, Dean, Faculty of Communication and Public Relations, National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, Tana Foarfă, Director, Europuls – the Centre of European Expertise, Mihai Sebe, Expert, Studies and Analyses Unit, Dan Cărbunaru, Director Caleaeuropeana.ro.
